Welcome! We want to explain our terms simply without legal jargon. These conditions apply to all services we provide — from local house moves to intercity relocations across New Zealand.

How We Make Quotes and Prices

Our quotes are based on the information you give us. We need accurate details about what you're moving, access to properties, and any special requirements. The following conditions could change the quoted price:

  • Address changes or incorrect access information
  • Extra workers needed on the day
  • Waiting time due to access issues
  • Additional storage requirements
  • Packing materials not originally quoted

We may also refuse to move items that are unsafe or badly packed. Your safety and the safety of our team always comes first.

Items We Can't Move – Stay Safe!

For safety reasons, these items cannot be transported on our trucks:

  • Pets and animals
  • Flammable items (gas bottles, petrol, paint thinners)
  • Chemicals, paints, car batteries
  • Engines and car parts with fluids
  • Perishable food
  • Money, jewelry, passports, gift cards

Note: Items over 80kg require more than two people. Please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Important Note About Your Belongings

Under the New Zealand Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, goods are moved at the "owner's risk." This means that while we take every possible care, we have limited liability for damage unless you've purchased additional insurance coverage through us or your own insurer.

Get Insurance – We Recommend It!

Insurance is not included in our standard moving service. However, we strongly recommend protecting your belongings. You have two options:

  • Your own insurance — Check with your personal insurer for transit cover.
  • Our arranged insurance — We can organize transit insurance on your behalf (see options above).

What Insurance Doesn't Cover

Even with full cover, the following items are excluded:

  • Cash, jewelry, watches, papers, bonds, cheques
  • Food, animals, cars, boats, trailers
  • Items valued over $10,000 (unless pre-agreed in writing)
  • Old antiques not professionally packed
  • Collectibles valuable as sets (stamps, coins)
  • Non-functional electronics
  • Already damaged items
  • Plants
  • Customer-packed items (excess applies)
  • Glass windows in furniture

How to Make a Claim if Needed

  • Owner's Risk rules apply to all moves
  • Minimum carrier insurance is available for purchase
  • Claim deadline: 24 hours after delivery
  • Payment for the move must be made in full first
  • No coverage for pre-existing damage

Other Things to Know About Responsibility

  • Small scratches are accepted under owner's risk terms
  • We are not liable for damage to lawns, driveways, pipes, or wiring
  • Weather delays and traffic conditions are beyond our control

How to Pay Us

  • Payment is due after the job unless otherwise agreed
  • EFTPOS available on-site
  • Credit cards accepted (3% surcharge applies)
  • Cash accepted

Claims must be made within 24 hours of delivery. We encourage you to inspect all items immediately upon delivery and report any damage to our team right away.

No, basic cover only protects against fire, flood, and truck crash/rollover. For loading and unloading damage, you'll need full cover. Non-functional electronics are excluded from all cover types.

Are jewelry and important papers covered? expand_more

No. Cash, jewelry, watches, passports, bonds, and important papers are excluded from all coverage. We recommend keeping these items with you personally during the move.
